Abstract:
A comprehensive evaluation was conducted on the preservation and disease status of seven iron cultural products unearthed from the Yanzhou City site in Liaoning province using ultraviolet fluorescence photography, X-ray flaw detection, wide area X-ray fluorescence scanning imaging, and X-ray diffraction analysis methods. The results show that the ironwares were severely corroded, and the surface contained a certain amount of chlorine element. The vast majority of the corrosion products contained unstable corrosion such as tetragonal hematite (β-FeOOH) and hematite (γ-FeOOH). The stable technology of protecting fragile iron cultural relics was adopted to comprehensively prevent and control the diseases of 7 iron cultural products, and achieved good results.
