Abstract
The hydrogen embrittlement sensitivity of large diameter X80 pipeline steel in farmland water-saturated soil and its simulation solution was studied by slow strain rate testing and cathodic polarization curves. The results showed that, with negative shifting of cathodic protection potential, the area reduction and elongation of X80 steel decreased, hydrogen embrittlement sensitivity increased.Cathodic protection potential in the soil and simulation solution respectively reached -1.15 V (CSE) and -1.10 V (CSE),X80 steel exhibited obvious brittle fracture. The hydrogen embrittlement sensitivity of X80 steel in simulated soil solution was more sensitive than that in the soil, indicating that the use of soil simulation solution in X80 steel embrittlement sensitivity study is conservative and suitable.
