Numerical Simulation Evaluation and Optimal Retrofit of Sacrificial Anode Cathodic Protection Systems for Offshore Jackets

    • High corrosion risk exists because the CP effectiveness is unknown. Protected potentials detected by ROV (remote operated vehicle) and other techniques in limited locations in a case showed that such results could not reflect the CP condition of the entire underwater structures. Numerical simulation technique was used in CP assessment for two platforms, and the results showed a good coherence with potential detection data. Meanwhile, the simulation technique was used to optimally design retrofits for the under-protection area in a platform.
