Failure Resson for Elevator Control Cables

    • The cables of an elevator control system was fractured during flight, in order to find out the cause of the fracture, macroscopic and microscopic observation was carried out, comprehensive analysis of the elevator control system was carried out, finite element analysis was used to analyze the forces of cable when the U-shaped cable lug rotating blocked. The main reason for the cable break was discussed. The results showed that the main reason for cable breakage was the retardation of rotation of the U-shaped lug connecting elevator ropes, resulting in the increase of additional cable bending stress in the end part and thus causing, a two-way bending fatigue fracture.
