Hydrogen Diffusion Characteristics in X90 Pipeline Steel

Abstract
Characteristics of hydrogen diffusion in X90 pipeline steel were studied by electrochemical permeation technology. Diffusion laws with various solution temperatures, sample thicknesses and hydrogen charging current densities ware obtained. The results show that the effective diffusion coefficient Deff of hydrogen in X90 steel gradually increased while the hydrogen concentration c0 in X90 steel was gradually reduced, when the current density and sample thickness increased. And the effective diffusion coefficient increased with the increase of solution temperature. The fitting functions of Deff and c0 with variable thicknesses were obtained.
