Abstract
The corrosion behavior of 316NG stainless steel in high pure water environment was studied. The kinetic curve and corrosion rate of 316NG stainless steel were obtained by corrosion weight-loss test. The elements, phases and microscopic morphology of corrosion products were analyzed by the method of XPS, XRD and SEM. The results show that the corrosion rate of 316NG stainless steel in high pure water environment was 0.05 mm/a, which was lower than that of 304NG and 321 stainless steels. The corrosion products consisted of magnetite Fe3O4 with good corrosion resistance, spinel oxide FeCr2O4 and NiFe2O4, Ni oxide and hydroxide, Cr oxide and hydroxide. The atomic ratio of Ni+Cr to Fe in corrosion products was higher than that in base metal. The results show that 316NG stainless steel had good corrosion resistance.
