lnhibition Performance of Histidine Derivatives Self-assembled Films

    • Three histidine derivatives self-assembled (SA) films were prepared on 304 stainless steel (SS) surface. The inhibition performance of the films in 0.5 mol/L HCl solution was investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), polarization curve, interface contact angle map and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) technique. The electrochemical test results showed that films of three amino acids derivatives were able to protect 304 SS from corrosion effectively. The results of XPS indicated that the corrosion inhibition was due to the fact that histidine derivatives formed a chemisorbed film on the surface of 304SS.
