Key Issues in the Design and Installation of Deep Anode Beds

    • The distribution of soil resistivity along vertical direction near a deep anode bed in some field was measured using un-equidistance method. The most economical well depth was analyzed based on those data. Some key issues that should be strictly followed during the installation of deep anode beds were also proposed. The results show that the soil resistivity had a tendency of decrease followed by increase when the strata depth increased, and the most economical well depth was 40 m. Anode bed installation quality and cathodic protection (CP) effectiveness can be achieved only when all these key issues are strictly followed during the installation of deep anode beds.
