    Inhibition Effect of Water-soluble Chitosan on 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel

    • Chemical immersion, conventional electrochemical test and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods were used to study the effect of water-soluble chitosan on the electrochemical corrosion behaviour of 2205 duplex stainless steel in 3.5% NaCl solution. Moreover, the inhibition behaviour and mechanism of water-soluble chitosan in NaCl solution was also discussed. The results show that the water soluble chitosan is a kind of anodic process inhibitor, the solution containing water soluble chitosan can effectively reduce the localized corrosion of 2205 duplex stainless steel.
