Abstract
Water soluble polyaniline nanoparticles were synthesized by dispersion polymerization, and their structure and particle size distribution were characterized by infrared spectrum, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and laser particle size analyzer. The corrosion inhibition effect of polyaniline nanoparticles on carbon steel in 1 mol/L HCl was investigated by polarization curves and electrochemical impendence spectroscopy (EIS). Results indicated that polyaniline nanoparticles could absorb on carbon steel and then decreasesd its corrosion rate effectively. When the inhibitor concentration was 0.5 g/L, the inhibition efficiency reached 95.6%.
