Abstract
Bismuth was added into galvanizing zinc in order to improve the surface quality of new type of Zn-Al-Mg-Ni-V alloy coating. The influences of adding bismuth on the liquidity of the molten alloy, the structure and corrosion resistance of the coating were investigated. The results show that the corrosion resistance of the coating decreased with the increase of bismuth content in the coating. When the mass fraction of bismuth in the molten alloy was 0.05%, the liquidity of the molten alloy was the best, and the thickness of the coating was the thinnest, but the corrosion resistance decreased slightly compared to the coating without adding bismuth.
