Mutual Interference between Cathodic Protection Systems of Adjacent Pipelines

    • Taking adjacent pipelines in Northwest of China for example, the cathodic protection potential, ground potential gradient, and AC interference potential of the adjacent pipelines were tested on the spot. And the position and setting mode of the anode bed were analyzed through numerical simulation using software ANSYS. At last, the simulation results were verified by experiment of temporary buried anode bed. The results indicate that the stray current was caused by mutual interference between different cathodic protection systems. The mutual interference could be eliminated almost by setting anode bed in reasonable location.
