Detection of Internal Defects in Oil Tankers Based on Eddy Current Sensor

    • An electric eddy current sensor used for the detection of internal defects in oil tankers was design. The structure of the sensor was studied, the mathematical model of the sensor was established, and the packaging method of the sensor was analyzed. Finally, system testing was carried out. The results show that the sensor can realize nondestructive detection, and can detect the damage of oil tanks safely and effectively. The sensor had the sensitivity coefficient of 1 125.63 mV/mm with the advantages of simple operation and fast detection speed.
