Abstract
Based on the existing treatment process of a recycling plant, the flocculation and disinfection processes were optimized. The effects of two kinds of reclaimed water treatment processes on the corrosion of pipe network were analyzed by weight-loss method, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results show that the Larson index and microbial activity of the effluent from the optimization process were significantly reduced in comparison with the old process, and the corrosion surface was smooth and crystalline. The CaCO3 layer alleviating the corrosion of cast iron pipe network formed from the beginning of corrosion to the whole corrosion process. Therefore the optimization process can effectively alleviate the corrosion of cast iron pipe network.
