Corrosion Analysis and Control Measures of Long Distance Natural Gas Pipeline

    • Corrosion reasons of a natural gas long-distance pipeline in Feicheng city were analyzed. The results showed that the main reason for corrosion perforation was that water was stored at the bottom of the pipeline for a long time. The pipeline was not in use within 1 year after the laying out, and oxygen corrosion occurred. After the pipeline was put into operation, the corrosion was aggravated due to the dissolution of CO2 from the natural gas into water. Under the combined action of oxygen corrosion and CO2 corrosion, the perforation failure of the pipeline occurred eventually. In the view of the corrosion problems, the corresponding proposals were put forward, and the corrosion protection and control measures were developed.
