Corrosion of Production Systems for Offshore Oilfield

Produced water quality and corrosion products of the production system of an offshore oilfield in the South China Sea were analyzed.The results show that the main cause of the production system corrosion was pitting corrosion resulting from CO₂ at high temperature.And obvious scaling tendency of CaCO₃,high TDS (total dissolved solid) and high content of Cl^- for produced water promoted the probability of pitting.The corrosion was controlled well by continuous adding high temperature corrosion inhibitor.
