Abstract
Morphology observation and electrochemical analysis were used to study the galvanic corrosion inhibition of benzotriazole (BTA) and sodium benzoate to Gd and La(FeSi)13 alloy in deionized water. The results show that the corrosion resistance of Gd and La(FeSi)13 alloy coupled with 304 stainless steel in deionized water increased rapidly when 0.05 mol/L BTA and 0.05 mol/L sodium benzoate was added. The inhibition efficiency was 90.5%, 93.5% and 96.5% for La(FeSi)13/Gd, 304 stainless steel/Gd, 304 stainless steel/La(FeSi)13 coupled electrodes. Benzotriazole and sodium benzoate can inhibit the galvanic corrosion between above metals.
