Corrosion Behavior of 30Cr13 Stainless Steel with Different Si Content

    • Based on the chemical composition of 30Cr13 martensitic stainless steel, different silicon content samples were prepared by a vacuum arc melting furnace, and the effects of alloying elements and quenching temperature on 30Cr13 stainless steel microstructure and corrosion resistance were studied. Scanning electron microscopy was used to analyze the corrosion morphology of samples after corrosion. It was found that with the increase of silicon content, ferrite formation was promoted, thereby the activity of carbide precipitation, and carbon content increased, leading to corrosion weight loss increase and pitting performance decrease. At the same time, with the increase of quenching temperature, more carbon solid-dissolved into the matrix, which reduced the carbide precipitation and improved the pitting corrosion resistance.
