    Reaction Mechanism for Cr in Stainless Steel Corroded by Hydrogen and Chloride Ion

    • 0Cr18Ni9 and 1Cr13 stainless steels are typical materials for cutlery. A reaction system for studying the reaction mechanism was built. Cr concentration was determined at different temperatures, different acidity and different NaCl concentrations. Using the theory of chemical kinetics, the reaction mechanism was derived, the reaction rate constants were calculated.
