Abstract
The corrosion behavior of X52 steel in 80% (mass fraction) triethylene glycol solution containing H2S/CO2 gas mixture was studied using static normal temperature and pressure autoclave and CHI660D electrochemical workstation. At the same time, the wettability of condensed water and triethylene glycol solution to X52 steel was studied by means of JC2000C1 contact angle and interface tension meter. The results show that the corrosion rate of X52 steel in the triethylene glycol solution containing H2S/CO2 gas mixture was lower than that in the condensed water containing H2S/CO2 gas mixture. There were few corrosion products and some pits on the surface of X52 steel after immersion in triethylene glycol solution. The 80% triethylene glycol solution caused a larger corrosion area on the pipe wall than the same volume of the condensed water.
