Abstract
The serious damage caused by pipeline corrosion of casing and the application of numerical simulation technology to cathodic protection are summarized and discussed. COMSOL Multiphysic simulation software was used in combimation with finite element method and boundary element method to study the law of the effect of some factors, on the pipeline potential distribution of casing. The factors included whether both ends of the casing were sealed, coating quality on the surface of pipeline or casing, electrolyte conductivity in the annular space, whether sacrificial anode existed inside casing and whethed holidays appeared in the coating on the pipeline inside casing, The study was aiming at revealing the corrosion mechanism resuting from the casing shield and providing theoretical reference for design and safety management of the pipeline corrosion protection.
