Abstract
The morphology of oxide layer on the surface of hot-rolled steel sheet was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The effect of oxide layer on the corrosion behavior of hot-rolled steel sheet was studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic scanning testing. The results showed that the surface oxide layer of hot-rolled steel sheet could improve the corrosion resistance of the substrate, during short-term immersion corrosion process, the oxide layer did not affect the cathodic and anodic reactions and corrosion mechanism and only played the role of physical shielding in the process of corrosion.
