Abstract
Corrosion inhibition behavior of three inhibitors of organo-phosphonate, thiourea and hyamine on carbon steel in oilfield injection water was investigated by electrochemical methods. The results showed that the descending order of corrosion inhibition efficiencies of these three inhibitors was organo-phosphonate, thiourea and hyamine. Moreover, the efficiencies of these three inhibitors all declined greatly with the increase of immersion time. It was possibly related to complicated ingredients in oilfield injection water, especially microorganism such as bacteria, whose metabolism activities brought the degradation of organic inhibitors. Therefore, seeking efficient and long-acting inhibitors is still an important research direction for corrosion control in oilfield.
