Abstract
High temperature and high pressure immersion corrosion test was employed to age tetrafluoroethylene-propylene rubber (TFEP) in acidic environment containing H2S and CO2. And the effects of temperature, content of H2S and CO2, and environmental pressure on the corrosion resistance of TFEP were investigated. The results show that the most important effect factor was the temperature of corrosive environment, while the content of H2S, CO2 and environmental pressure had little effects on the material properties. The mechanical properties decreased with the increase of temperature, and the strength retention rate was greater than 69%. The TFEP had good corrosion resistance to H2S and CO2, which was equal to that of perflouroelastomer rubber in the acidic environment of 150℃, 1.0 MPa partial pressure of H2S, 1.5 MPa partial pressure of CO2, and the sealing capacity of the packer made of TFEP reached 50 MPa.
