Abstract
General corrosion test and grooving corrosion test were performed to N80 steel. The corrosion morphology of the surface of N80 steel was characterized by laser confocal scanning microscopy (LCSM) in comparison with the methods of macro observation, scanning electron microscopy and metallurgical microscopy. The results show that using LCSM can find localized corrosion and deep corrosion pit more visually and objectively. The ruler attached to the instrument can be used to measure the depths of pits directly and conveniently. So the grooving corrosion sensitivity coefficient calculated according to the parameters tested by LSCM is more reliable.
