Abstract
The pitting corrosion resistance to chloride of corrosion-resistant rebar (00Cr10MoV) and plain low-carbon rebar (20MnSiV) in cement extract solution was investigated by open circuit potential (OCP), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic potentiodynamic polarization (CPP) measurements. The morphology of corrosion products and corrosion pits was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Results show that compared with 20MnSiV rebar, 00Cr10MoV rebar had better pitting corrosion resistance to chloride in cement extract solution with different concentrations of chloride (0.1, 0.6 mol/L). After corroded in cement extract solution with 0.6 mol/L chloride, a large amount of corrosion products were observed on the surface of 20MnSiV rebar, whereas only a few corrosion pits were found on the surface of 00Cr10MoV rebar.
