Abstract
Through chemical precipitation method, nano ferric oxide particles (Fe2O3) were evenly coated on the surface of halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) to prepare Fe2O3-HNTs hybrid material. And the coating effects were analyzed with X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Then the Fe2O3-HNTs hybrid material was further modified with silane coupling agent KH560. And the Fe2O3-HNTs/EP composite coating was prepared by mixing the modified Fe2O3-HNTs hybrid material and epoxy resin. Friction-wear experiment and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) testing were carried out respectively to evaluate the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the composite coating. The results show that the wear resistance, toughness and corrosion resistance of the Fe2O3-HNTs/EP composite coating were improved significantly compared with the pure epoxy coating.
