Abstract
A new graphene silicate zinc-rich anti-corrosion coating with addition of different amounts of nano graphene was prepared and painted on a tinplate. The effects of graphene addition on the coating adhesion, salt-spray resistance, impact resistance and electrochemical properties were investigated. The results show that with the increase of graphene addition from 0.8% to 2.0%, the flexibility, impact resistance and hardness of the coating increased, and the salt-spray resistance and adhesion of the coating increased first and then decreased. The coating added with 1.0% graphene showed the highest free corrosion potential and the smallest free corrosion current density, indicating the best anti-corrosion effect.
