Corrosion Inhibition Behavior of Salt-Type Vapor Phase Corrosion Inhibitor for Carbon Steel

    • High-efficiency and non-toxic salt-type vapor phase corrosion inhibitors, morpholine benzoate and cinnamic acid oleic acid, were prepared by solid phase chemical reaction. The anti-rust performance of the two vapor phase corrosion inhibitors, benzoic acid morpholine and cinnamic acid oleic acid, was evaluated and compared by traditional vapor phase rust prevention test, vapor phase corrosion inhibition test and electrochemical test. The results show that the addition of two vapor phase inhibitors increased the electrochemical impedance of the carbon steel electrode and slowed down the electrochemical reaction. At the same time, the self-corrosion potential of the carbon steel electrode shifted positively and the corrosion current density decreased. These two corrosion inhibitors belonged to the anodic vapor phase corrosion inhibitor, which also had a certain inhibitory effect on the cathodic process of corrosion electrochemistry. Compared with cinnamate oleic acid, morpholine benzoate had better corrosion inhibition effect to carbon steel.
