Influence Factors on Pitting Susceptibility of Failed Condensing Stainless Steel Tube

    • The pitting sensitivities of 304, 304L and 316L stainless steels in 30% CaCl2 solution at different temperatures were investigated by electrochemical methods. The results show that the content of Cl- in 30% CaCl2 solution as condensate was relatively high, and the pitting sensitivity of 304 stainless steel was higher than that of 304L stainless steel due to the higher carbon content. And the temperature also had a greater impact on the pitting sensitivity of the materials. 316L stainless steel had excellent pitting resistance in 30% CaCl2 solution.
