Abstract
The corrosion inhibition of triazole bis-Schiff base (TSB) to N80 steel in 1 mol/L HCl solution was investigated using static weight-loss method, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, polarization curves and scanning electron microscopy. The results show that TSB had excellent inhibiting effect to N80 steel in 1 mol/L HCl solution, and the inhibition efficiency increased with the concentration of TSB. With the increase of temperature, the inhibition efficiency decreased. When the concentration of TSB was 2.0 mmol/L and the temperature was 298 K, the inhibition efficiency reached 96%. TSB acted as a mixed-type inhibitor which suppressed both anodic reaction and cathodic reaction. The adsorption of TSB on the surface of N80 steel was a spontaneous process dominated by chemical adsorption, and obeyed Langmuir isothermal adsorption equation.
