Effect of Magnetic Field on Corrosion of X60 Pipeline Steel in Soil of Changsha Area

    • The effects of magnetic field on the corrosion behavior of X60 pipeline steel in the soil at the intersection of Changsha maglev express line and West-East gas pipeline Qianxiang branch were studied by weight loss method, electrochemical method and corrosion morphology analysis. The results show that the presence of magnetic field accelerated the corrosion of X60 steel in Changsha soil. When the samples were buried for the same time, the corrosion weight loss under the condition without magnetic field was the smallest, and the corrosion weight loss under the condition with strong magnetic field was the most serious. Under strong magnetic field conditions, the corrosion rate of the samples embedded for 28 d reached 0.068 mm/a.
