    Techonology of Environment Friendly Cyanide-Free Electro-Brush Silver Plating and Its Practical Application

    • In order to meet the new requirements for repairing technology of power supply equipment in power system maintenance work. A cyanide-free brush plating solution with excellent performance was successfully prepared with potassium pyrophosphate as a complexing agent. And silver plating was prepared on the surface of copper as a substrate by electro-brush plating. The structure and properties of the silver plating were characterized by adhesion testing, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The results show that the performance of the plating solution was stable. After two weeks of sealing and preservation, the plating solution did not precipitate and the conductivity did not change significantly. The silver plating had good adhesion on the copper substrate, and the thickness of the silver plating was over 20 μm, meeting the requirements of related applications. The electro-brush plating process can effectively repair defects on isolating switches, diversion joints, binding posts, equipment clamps, knife gate contacts and three-phase connection boards, making the repaired device performance meet the usage requirements.
