Effect of Processing Technology on Corrosion Resistance of Stainless Steel Straight Threaded Joints

    • Three kinds of processing techniques of rib rolling, upsetting and upset rolling were used to prepare threaded sectors, couplers and their connecting screwed joints using 2205 stainless steel. And the corrosion resistance of these samples were tested by salt-spraying test and immersion test. The results show that the corrosion resistance of the threaded sectors prepared by rib rolling and upset rolling were stable and better than that prepared by upsetting. The corrosion resistance of screwed joint prepared by both rib rolling and upset rolling had no obvious difference, and were good. Rib rolling process is preferred as the straight thread processing technique considering cost and other issues.
