    Discussion on Cathodic Protection Retrofit Technical Solution for a Jacket Platform in the South China Sea

    • The sacrificial anode of an in-service jacket platform in the South China Sea needs to be extended for 15 years. Based on the structural characteristics and service environment of the in-service platform, the feasibility of the sacrificial anode and the applied current technology for life extension technology was analyzed from the aspects of installation, feasibility, reliability and engineering cost. The results show that the applied current extension repair technology was more economical and convenient than the sacrificial anode method, and the use of anode cable stretching and anode remote installation was both economical and safe.
