Performance of a Reference Electrode in High-temperature Fluoride Salt Environment

Abstract
A reference electrode used in high temperature fluoride salt environment was prepared. Graphite tube was protected from high temperature fluoride salt corrosion by internal and external pyrolytic boron nitride tubes. The stability of the reference electrode in high temperature fluoride salt environment was investigated by potential difference (ΔE)test and high temperature fluoride salt test. The results show that the stability of the reference electrode did not deteriorate due to the increase of uses,and ΔE was always maintained at 2.4 mV to 2.8 mV within 14 400 s. The reference electrode had good Nernst property, reversibility and reusability. In the related research of high temperature fluoride salt environment, the reference electrode had a good application prospect.
