Abstract
Models of embedded parts of hydraulic metal structures were made, and the protection effects of different types of sacrificial anodes and external current methods on the embedded parts were studied as to find a practical long-term protection scheme for embedded parts of hydraulic metal structures. The results show that when the sacrificial anode method was used for cathodic protection, and the solution conductivity was 2 000 μS/cm, the protection distance of magnesium alloy to the buried parts of hydraulic metal structure could reach a distance of 100 cm, which had a relatively good protection effect. Due to the surface passivation effect, zinc alloys and aluminum alloys could not protect the buried parts of hydraulic metal structures. Potentiostatic polarization method can provide relatively good protection for embedded parts under different conductivity conditions.
