Key Factors Affecting Corrosion Leakage of Beijing Gas Pipelines

    • With the extension of the service time of buried gas pipeline networks and the increasingly complex service environment, the risk of external corrosion and leakage of buried gas pipelines gradually increases, and external corrosion failure accidents occur frequently. Based on the statistical results of Beijing Gas's external corrosion leakage data from 2014 to 2017, the variation law of leakage frequency with the service time of the pipelines and the influence of external corrosion protection layer type, pressure level and cathodic protection on the pipeline leakage were analyzed. The results show that the key factors affecting the external corrosion leakage of Beijing gas pipelines were the type of anti-corrosion layer, the service time of the pipeline, and cathodic protection status.
