    Failure Reason of 30Cr13 Stainless Steel Circulating Water Pump Shaft

    • Through mechanical performance test, scanning electron microscopy, energy spectrum analyzing, metallographic analysis and other technical means, the reasons for the fracture of a 30Cr13 stainless steel circulating water pump shaft were analyzed. The results show that after the impeller seal failure, circulating water polluted by Br- infiltrating into the gaps of both key-key groove and impeller-shaft, corrosion fatigue fracture occured under the effect of cyclic fatigue load.
