The Cracking Failure Reason of Ammonium Sulfate Pipeline

    • Through PT, chemical composition analysis, morphology observation and other methods, the reasons for the cracking of an (NH4)2SO4 pipeline were analyzed. The results show that in a composite environment of marine atmosphere and industrial atmosphere, when the insulation layer was damaged, the temperature of the outer wall of the pipeline was 80~95 ℃, the outer wall of uncoated 316L pipeline was prone to irregular “dendritic” ESCC (external chloride stress corrosion cracking) due to the introduction of Cl- containing substances.
