    Corrosion Detection and Repair of River-Crossing Pipelines

    • In order to eliminate the corrosion hazards and ensure the long-term safe operation of two directional drilling pipelines across a river in Lushang Oilfield Operation District, inspection and evaluation were carried out for the pipelines to determine the direction, buried depth, corrosion status of the pipelines, and the entry and exit points of directional drilling. After comprehensive analysis from aspects of technique feasibility and economy, high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe liner repair technology was finally chosen to online repair the pipelines. The results indicated that using HDPE pipe liner repair technology could improve the corrosion resistance and prolong the service lives of the pipelines,and the investment cost was moderate.
