    Compatibility of Grounding Materials for Cathodic Protection of Oil Storage Tank

    • Through simulation test, the applicability of three kinds of grounding materials of the outer bottom plate of oil storage tank, such as copper, galvanized steel and carbon steel, was tested as the cathode protection grounding material. The results showed that copper and carbon steel grounding materials were not suitable as grounding materials for the outer bottom plate of oil storage tank; and when the cathodic protection potential was -0.85 ~ -0.95 V(vs. CSE), galvanized flat steel grounding material was suitable for the cathodic protection grounding material of the oil storage tank. To solve the problem that grounding material was incompatible with cathodic protection,solutions were proposed.
