Abstract
Bsaed on the investigations of corrosion of 162 power transmission tower in Zhejiang province, the distribution of corrosion degrees of the tower feet and their causes were determined. And through the finite element method, the influence of corrosion degree of the primary member and diagonal members of tower feet on safety performance of tower structure was analyzed. The results show that the stress-design intensity ratio increased as the corrosion ratio increased, and a stress redistribution happened in the corrosion of tower members. So the safety performance of tower decreased. When the corrosion ratio of tower foot member reached a critical corrosion ratio, the safety performance level would quickly decrease from level a to level d. The critical corrosion ratio increased as the initial stress-design intensity ratio decreased. Therefore, properly designing the initial stress-design intensity ratio could effectively increase the critical corrosion ratio of power transmission tower member.
