Failure Reasons of Titanium Alloy Elbow

Through metallographic microscope, scanning electron microscope and tensile performance testing, the reasons for the failure of TA10 elbows for waste water treatment were analyzed. The results show that the inner wall of TA10 elbow was seriously oxidized. The disappearance of dispersion phase at higher temperature resulted in the decrease of elbow's mechanical properties. And erosion occurred under the action of high pressure fluid flushing, leading to the cracking of the weakened area of the elbow.
