Abstract
Corrosion perforation occurred in the production water pipeline of an offshore oilfield in Bohai Sea, and the cause of the perforation was analyzed. The results showed that the production water of this oilfield contained a large amount of ferrous ions and bicarbonate ions, and ferrous carbonate scale was produced during operation. Because of the cracks on the surface of the ferrous carbonate scale, serious corrosion under scale occurred. The anti-scaling agent currently in use could not well inhibit the scale of ferrous carbonate. Duplex stainless steel should be used to replace carbon steel on site to solve the problem of corrosion under scale.
