Abstract
The effect of hydrogen permeation on delamination of epoxy resin coating on surface of L360QS steel was studied by electrochemical hydrogen charging, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), polarization curves and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that under the condition of no hydrogen permeation, the protective property of the coating decreased with the prolongation of soak time, but no delamination occurred. Under the condition of hydrogen permeation, the degree of coating delamination increased significantly with the increase of hydrogen charging current density, which indicated that hydrogen permeation significantly accelerated the failure process of coating.
