Abstract
The corrosion resistance of epoxy glass flake coating in high acid and strong alkali environments was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Using high temperature autoclave to simulate the service conditions of Tahe Oilfield, the corrosion resistance of the coating in gas, oil and water under the simulated working conditions was studied. The electrochemical characteristics of the coating under six simulated working conditions were analyzed by electrochemical test. The coating life was predicted based on the data from peeling performance test, and the predicted result was verified through on-site test. The results show that the glass transition temperature of epoxy glass flake coating was fairly high. The corrosion resistance of the coating in high acid and strong alkali environments or under the simulated working conditions was good, and the impedance values of the coating were over 107 Ω·cm2 all. The predicted life of the coating was far less than that under actual working conditions. So it was suggested to predict the coating life with the data of coupons in field.
