Abstract
The main reasons for heat exchanger tube leakage were analyzed through analyzing chemical composition and microstructure of the heat exchanger tube steel, detecting corrosion products through scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and combining raw materials, processes and heat exchanger tube structure. The results show that H2S corrosion caused by excessive sulfur content in the raw materials and unreasonable water injection methods led to pipeline leakage. By controlling the composition of raw materials, adjusting water injection process, and improving heat exchanger tube structure, the heat exchanger tube corrosion was effectively reduced. The equipment has been operating normally for 690 days.
