The Effect of Oxidizing Agent on Corrosion Behaviour of Tubing and Casing Materials in Phosphate Completion Fluid Environment

Abstract
The effect of strong oxidant K2CrO4 on the corrosion resistance of super 13Cr stainless steel and P110 carbon steel in K4P2O7 phosphate completion fluid solution was studied by high temperature and high pressure corrosion simulation immersion test and electrochemical test, combined with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and other analytical methods. The results showed that the addition of K2CrO4 could improve the corrosion resistance of super 13Cr martensitic stainless steel and P110 carbon steel. K2CrO4 could inhibit the formation of loose corrosion products on the surface of P110 carbon steel and increase the passivation characteristics of 13Cr martensitic stainless steel.
