Auti-interference Measures and Their Mitigation Effect of HVDC Grounding Electrode for Natural Gas Buried Pipeline in Guangdong

    • Due to the interference of high voltage direct current (HVDC) grounding electrodes to natural gas buried pipelines, anti-interference measures were adopted, such as zinc ribbon paving, valve chamber grounding, cathodic protection and others. The mitigation effect of these measures was studied by the analysis of pipeline potentials and corrosion rates. The results show that the anti-interference measures adopted by pipeline side could alleviate the interference degree of the pipeline to a certain extent. But the best measures are controlling the distance between interference source and pipeline, reducing the discharging time and frequency of grounding electrode.
